We are not prepared.
My startup just passed it's series A with tens of millions on funding, valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. And the work were doing is going to automate away a ton of SWE positions.
It's a top-down, bottom-up automation technology that is rapidly becoming more and more capable of replacing humans. Who cares how fast things get done when bots do the work for pennies of electricity costs? Hyper Capitalists sure won't, but you, the consumer might. But who cares about what consumers want? Certainly not the shorting, calling, shorting, calling options capitalists that run things.
It's a race to the bottom.
