Waymo is just a stepping stone to automated delivery and trucking. Imagine going skiing/camping/mtbing in a remote place that is 2 days drive away. You set your waymo with all your gear to leave and it drives overnight. You fly and it meets you at the airport. For trucking this will drastically reduce the costs involved which is primarily human labor.
