My largest issue with all of this is how none of this was built out of a moral need or pursuit of world peace, or anything beneficial to the whole. This was knowingly built for money. For profit, not non-profit as it originally proclaimed, FOR profit.
Sure it can be helpful and has shown itself to be, but it was built upon trying to get rich quickly and before other people by any means necessary. Including stealing as much information and data from the masses of people and artists from illegal sites without any of our consent. And as this guest mentioned, not giving a damn about the long term implications or under any of the safety protocols long put in place incase AI were to be built.
It's all been under the guise of "we're in pursuit of technological innovation and outcompeting the 'arms' race with foreign countries. We HAVE to do this fast or else we'll get steamrolled by other countries. We HAVE to take from all of you because otherwise we'll never get as far as we did." When really it's just money.
