I rarely use autopilot as it does phantom braking and a bit scary. What I don't know is if autopilot is Full Self Driving-lite or an entirely different software package. If they used all knowledge learned from FSD, and this still happened then this is a huge problem, at least for the short term. Lower accident stats while cars are under FSD are misleading because drivers are still watching the road, so you actually have 2 drivers instead of just one. Bikers, put a small tail light on your helmet to help with this issue.
