I will say, even though I don't hate AI stuff myself in certain circumstances I do personally enjoy the fact that things like nightshade exist. It helps push towards a future where only the ethical AIs trained on art commission for purpose of its generation or developed in house make it. Now of course you might say, if you can commission the art than you should just pay for the artist to draw out everything right? Main issue with that is Indie projects like cartoons or anime often aren't massively profitable or capable of sustaining a consistent schedule without a sizeable crew. So there is a massive difference in price between giving someone a pay day of maybe a 1000 you could spare and more every time you need a new character, or paying them a living wage for several months for taking up 8 hours of their time. Though I will admit I would feel off about it if the artist wasn't also getting a percentage of the revenue the project made too given well... Their hand it what gave the work its visual soul.
