Artists are changing their publicly shared art with a symbol to "protest" this AI generated problem. In turn those symbols are appearing in places that the art would've been used.
This means that the art is actively manipulated and stitched together formulaically, and its not just some snapshot that can learn and be independant. They're still actively using the source material directly. This is stealing.
