He overhypes LLMs, and an LLM expert is not THE godfather of AI. The connectionism model used for all AI with its basis in Boolean algebra, #1 is not how the brain works, and #2 does not appear in nature anywhere. This model goes back to before the transistor was invented in 1947 and the Information Age began. This guy Hinton didn't even know what AI was when it was invented as he wasn't even born yet.
