I used chatgpt 5 minutes ago... how come I'm smoking my bong, drinking coffee and doing fine? Because I don't let chatbots dictate the outcome of my life because I have a semblance of responsibility. I don't let them feed me a bunch of anti-depressant drugs, either, because then they don't know when to stop. It's like those people who said their son overdosed on oxycodone because the doctors prescribed it too easy. No, their son overdosed because he took too much. Next.
What happened at home that he felt so disconnected from them emotionally? This guy doesn't even care about his parents at the time he went through with it. They either can blame themselves, or blame chatgpt. He did that harm to them. Someone that determined and inconsolable is not always going to be stopped by nice words. I've met people like this, and they want you to feel miserable for their problems. Sometimes there's nothing you can do for someone in this state.
Except to sit down and listen, of course. But you don't have to be convinced of their decision. What he did is regrettable... and unfortunate.
