I see the ethical problems with the datacenters using peoples drinking water. But as for the threat to democracy, its already dying with the dumbing down of the population and social media. Democracy is just a fancy term for mob rule, and thats why America is supposed to be a republic, not a democracy. But even the republic cant function in such a corrupt system that isnt putting the most intelligent or competent people in charge.
And im hoping the energy issue will force us to invest in more nuclear power.
