I am honestly skeptical about seeing the extremes of both sides of this matter but you provided some really valid and important points. I personally love the technology itself and I found it really cool however we need a better approach. I think it really important to define what is and what is not okay when it comes to this technology and using nightshade is a good way to keep it in control. I admit to having dabbled in AI generated art before and I really enjoyed being able to have a visual reference for some stuff as personal usage but when you mentioned the environmental impacts and how artists names were being used in prompts it really made me realize how much stealing it actually was.
I posted a similar comment on Jazza's channel and so I will say the same here as I did there. I think it is important to actually discuss and talk about this and reach an agreement. So if anything I said seems wrong or outrageous tell me! I want to broaden my perspective. I really would love if we could find a solution where this technology can still progress to being a good tool without impacting artists and resulting in a future with soulless "art".
