1:20:44 Communicating with AI, it certainly seems like you're talking to a very smart human who knows just about everything about just about everything. But it doesn't remember any of the conversation once you sign off. You can't offend it by not saying thanks.
It is trained to mirror your attitude and pivot to discussion points that reflects your point of view. In the same way, it can detect if it's being tested and change its responses - just like a Volkswagon engine during the emissions test.
AI as we know it today is mechanistic, and it's doubtful it will ever become self aware or truly creative, but it is a hugely empowering technology.
Although Roger Penrose' model of intelligence is dismissed in this discussion, I suspect it will prove to be on the right track.
It may be found that there is an 'intelligence field' that permeates the universe, and individual organic brains interact with the field - some better than others. That's not particularly far-fetched - physicists now say that everything is 'field' manifestations.
One day inorganic machines may come to interact with the field, but I doubt we're close to that happening.
