I used AI for a base idea for a cover, because I've never personally seen a raven on a medeival helmet.... then I used pencil, watercolor paper, and gouache to color it, modifying proportions, lighting, etc.
That, IMO, is allowed. I still needed to use MY hard earned skills to render the image.
I've also had other pieces of mine be accused of being AI generated "because it had multiple eyes." Yet I did it 100% on my own.
AI art is a bane. It's insulting. I've seen it erode the art community to the point artists I hired once no longer are able to work.
I hate it.
