luckily for the ai "artist" what the copyright office does doesn't matter... them giving the seal of approval is only a formality to make things easier for you in the long run... according to the law you don't need their approval for copyright to be in effect, as soon as you create something its protected by copyright, as long as you have the proof you created it before the other person did, thats all you need.
