I went from white collar to blue collar (construction and small engine repair) a few years ago. I knew right away that AI wouldn’t take the blue collar jobs. Virtually every construction repair job is different from the last, sometimes in small ways, sometimes in big ones. And for small engine repair, is AI going to advise replacing the part with an equally inferior available part or fabricating a custom part in order to improve function? People don’t realize the strength, skill and mental agility required to do blue collar type of work.
