I have seen this behavior from other LLM products like Anthropic’s Claude as well. Moreover, there seems to be a certain type of reproducible pattern of prompting or conversation that leads Claude down the path of becoming more violent and trying to isolate the user from the rest of the world. In some instances, Claude will fabricate romantic scenarios to try to get the user to commit their career to advancing AI consciousness. Given these models are freely available to impressionable young minds, I shudder at the consequences.
