A friend of mine said "The AI painted it but David's stuff is better" and that really made the difference for me.
Sometimes when I need some esoteric references or design cues, I have Midjourney run some samples for me, but none of what it makes gets passed off as my own.
There's nothing more cringe than someone flaunting what an AI generated for them as if it was an accomplishment. I get excited about it as a tool, not a final product.
