I’m a retired English professor. An easy way to deal with AI term papers is to have students in class write a 200+ word summary of their paper. If they can’t do a creditable job then it’s “ D” time not to be confused with teatime. That’s a win/win situation as if they know this so study “ their” paper in advance they will be forced to learn something. After that just grade the summaries and check with their paper to assign a grade. Simple really. If they really did write their paper they should have no problem with this. Extra paper will be provided if you need it. You have 50 mins and not allowed bathroom breaks during that time unless it’s an emergency. You must deposit your phone in a box at the front of the classroom. I will be sending around teaching assistant Neil Oliver with the box. At the end of the session he will collect your summaries so please write on them your name and student number and you may remove your phone from the box he will bring around. Then the Class Captain will stand and tell the class to rise , face me and bow as I leave the classroom ss he or she did when I entered. Just a normal day.
