There exists a point in the future where the elite, the bougiousie, whatever you want to call them will have grown so powerful and their control over all industry, media, government and military force so absolute that any revolution or resistance by the public becomes utterly futile and hopeless.
Imagine all military capability outsourced to AI. No order is off the table, any heinous action followed without a second thought. All industry automated, no power to strike, affect production, no whistleblowers. As consumers we have the power to choose though, right? Not as much as we think. We already see laws and regulations in place designed to impose consumption where it's not desired and limit the service or good to a vendor approved by the state. In the future consumption will be mandatory and your options will be limited to one.
