Guy is clearly intelligent but this was nearly all opinion and based very little in fact. He has some statistics that show trends. Models that he's relying on to try and make predictions about the future of A.I. as well as work and so on. Most of them are lofty and we won't reach. Most jobs will be automated or gone in two years? LOL. Wishful thinking. Just because A.I. advances doesn't mean a hill of beans if it's not implemented and then streamlined. Also, there's always fallout when massive upheavals take place, those upheavals usually don't deliver on utopia, but they also don't quite give us dystopia in full either. His little backhanded screed about minimum wage workers was typical of men in his field. All that specialized knowledge of computer systems and the like but at the end of the day, they don't have the wherewithall to respect the people that actually make this world run and who take care of them. I know the host seemed giddy and outright blushed and hit a pregnant pause complete with bashful grinning when complemented by this charlatan, but I found his dogmatic and unfounded cocksure attitudes boring and par for the course for people of his ilk. They promise the world and make bold proclamations about what will be, in just a short amount of time. In reality this guy is a pretender who isn't really apart of the power brokers that will shape or decide these things. He has no inside knowledge. He's a lapdog at best. Gobble up this nonsense if you like, but in the end the best bet to make for the future is on one another! The machines will not deliver us from the evil oligarchs or their scheming tech bro acolytes. We will always be the superior intelligence on this planet whether we can accept that responsibility or not. No amount of burying our heads in the sand, ignoring deep inequality or delineating work to robot slaves will stop that fact from being so. Men like this will have you think that self preservation and revolution are one in the same. They are not whatsoever friends.
