I feel like a good use for generative ai would be games. Imagine a almost infinite ai generated world, with npcs, weapons, quests made to follow a certain vibe or even better, fine tuned based on user's actions so the game becomes better for the player with time. Ai could be also used for animations. Imagine ai driven movement in games where the characters movement actually comes from legs moving and feet having friction with the ground, while ai figures out how to move the legs on ever changing terrain. Now there is one very important thing with this concept. The generative models would HAVE to be fine tuned by artists using images, text and 3d models made specifically for this game. Not stuff scraped off of the internet. Newer methods allow us to create great ai models using less and less input data so that should be possible. That would give the devs control over how the game is supposed to look and feel. Ai generated images or videos have this weird feel to them where you just know it's ai, but can't explain why. That comes from the fact that these models were trained on different styles of art from thousands of artists. The models that are hard to recognize as ai were made only to generate a single type of images: realistic photos, manga etc... Never LLMs are getting really good at creating seemingly original stories that don't feel like ai. Chatting with the newest gpt model feels like we're talking to a human. I think that ai in games is the future but only if used in the right way. Players are tired of sloppy unoptimized ai made games flooding steam. What we should be pushing forward is good ai upscaling, voice generation, model generation, frame gen or LMMs. But these are tools. To make a something that feels unique and new you still have to put in the work of creating hundreds of man-made artworks for the sole purpose of giving the ai model a desired vibe
