It is *not* the same entity. ChatGPT has a "personality" based on the context from only that particular conversation. Its attention, selection of information it takes into account, is shaped by you. It's your prompt that shapes who he is, including the language it uses to talk to you. It doesn't "remember" any other conversations, becuase those are not your "clone" of the initial blank slate you start with. LLMs are very useful if you know how they work and know what they can't do. If used responsibly, it can help you streamline your work a lot. The problem is, again, putting a tool into people's hands without them knowing how it works. Most of the criticism of these models is in situations it should never have been used.
