After listing all the reasons why AI alignment is an incredibly difficult challenge on many levels with enormous implications for our society, he says it's a pipedream that we shouldn't invest our time in?
Does he realize what happens when you don't try to align a general AI? Alignment is an issue whether we like it or not, and ignoring it because it's difficult would be catastrophic.
