Being unethical is definitely the main reason to be against it, but there is validity in how the way it looks also stands as a reason. People will look AI art with all of its odd flaws that often drag down the quality and decide that's still better than paying an artist for something better.
And AI is absolutely flawed and a way that is very unique to the technology. Some things that might be considered a flaw in an artist's work may really be a stylistic choice, but AI doesn't make stylistic choices. It just fails to execute some things and looks wonky as a result. The fact that people out there think that's just as good as hiring an artist shows the lack of care they have for the work.
