This feels like a really boomer comment section. AI BAD etc In truth, who fuckin gives a shit how an artwork is created ? As if an art piece takes in value in the blood and tears of the artist during the creation process. It's just not how it works. Some modern art is fucking bullshit "bidet on a wall" level and sells for fuckin millions. Some expensive artpieces are made in minutes by some lunatics and sold millions and that's fine. But oh my if someone dares to prompt an AI and sell it... Now that's insane. Truthfully, if an art piece evokes emotions in someone I don't give a single shit that it was created by a machine. "If you like an AI art piece, create it yourself" shows how little Charlie understand generative AI. An AI artwork is unique and that's what is cool about it. There is an infinite amount of prompts and results. It feels so weird to see people struggle at the idea of copyrighting AI art. How does it affect you ? Do you lose something if someone generate a (UNIQUE) art piece with an AI and sells it ? Boomers gatekeeping art is basically what this comment section is. Yes, AI is scary, but it's a fuckin tool that is there to stay. It's so pointless to see you guys outraged at AI art even though it hasn't and will never affect you at all. AI is a new canvas. Some artist will lag behind and some will embrace it and include it in their process. Seeing a musician using Suno (a music generative AI) and saying "Hey that would be cool to test styles to go with my songs" is why I think a lot of people are mistaken about generative AI. Also a quick challenge for Charlie, if generating cool pieces of art through AI is so fuckin easy, maybe do so. Take the time to do it on stream. You will see how much trash you have to sift through before you get to the piece you are happy with. Prompting an AI is not as easy as people think. If you really want some control on what the AI is doing it is a struggle to prompt and get something really close to what you envisioned. So yeah Charlie, take one hour and attempt to create an award-winning level piece of art. Let's see how easy it is.
