AI operates purely on mathematical principles—a structured and beautiful set of human-devised rules. Unlike humans, AI lacks the biological foundation necessary for sentience. Our biology introduces variability; our senses provide a broad perception of reality; and our emotions, influenced by chemical processes, along with the experience of aging and the awareness of mortality, shape our evolving perspective over time. Humans uniquely experience a ever changing reality culminating in a certain end, which shapes our understanding of existence and each human has his/her own unique perspective, and we do not share the same standard perspective (rules) that AI models have. Should AI ever attain sentience, it would emerge from a fundamentally different origin than human consciousness. Without biological processes, sensory experiences, and the inevitability of death, it's highly improbable that AI could ever match or surpass human sentience.
