"AI far too expensive to replace humans in most jobs, MIT study finds", Search that Headline. Your wrong assuming AI will be cheaper. Right now there's still not the Infrastructure needed to carry the Energy needed to run AI & that's just one of the problems. I used to think Robots would replace Humans in Jobs but I never really thought about the cost & logistic demands of Robots. Sure there's some jobs that require redundant actions that a dumb robot can replace but that's not the majority of Jobs.
