Good interview. Elon is a deep thinker. Many people have warned of the AI idea. Steven Hawking, Arthur C Clarke and many other deep thinkers. Like Genetic modification of Humans, AI should be restricted to simple use only. As a tool of service, not control.
As far as Humans being the most intelligent....well, someone is flying black triangle air machines in our skys, and we apparently dont know who or what they are. The various Navies of Earth have seen vehicles travelling in the seas and can leave the seas and fly into the atmosphere, and apparently, they are not us. Presumably, someone or something can do these things, without any real interest or care in what humans think. The Earth is 4 Billion years old.....sophisticated creatures developed and lived for millions of years....millions of years ago ie Dinosaurs......what if they never really died out but kept going?
