I'm no AI expert, but I personally think it has a very simple solution - just remove variables pertaining to race/ethnic origin (and possibly even the names if they're in the dataset). We've been answering documents asking about our race when it serves no real practical purpose. If we want an impartial, just AI, make it blind.
