It irritates me that videos like this spread panic under the premise of certain assumptions that it brushes over as certainties. For example, it assumes that AI will be able to perform jobs better and more consistently than humans in many respects, but it does not take into account that massive hallucination problem that many experts consider to be unsolvable with LLM models.
The reality is that AI hallucinates incorrect information it believes to be accurate a disturbingly large proportion of the time. While this rate has been lowered a little over time, we don’t seem to have a foreseeable solution to it. Part of what I do for a living is building AI agents, and it is one of the most infuriating parts of it. You can’t seem to stop AI from occasionally making massive mistakes based on completely false pretenses it just made up. Right now it is too inconsistent to rely on and that problem is an extremely difficult one to solve. While some jobs will be lost among those that do not use AI to increase their productivity, AI is not replacing all intellectual jobs any time soon.
