I’m a machinist and the example of making the woman 5x more productive really resonates. That’s exactly what happened to me with automation and computerization. I’m 5x more productive than I was 30 years ago. But the other 4 guys had time to retire, retrain, or grow their skills like me. We just upgraded the software I use to make parts. In just 2 years, the advancement of the program is incredible. Easily 2x faster to produce the same result. And I just watched an AI powered demo that would do away with probably 85% of the work I do at the computer, making me effectively a robot that deals with the physical aspects of the job.
