Big picture question is why are we still moving so much by truck and not rail? (which I assume is even more capable of being automated) , truck driving is a shit job - sedentary, unsocial, unhealthy hours, constant exposure to noise, vibration, and fumes. We should be celebrating the removal of these types of jobs, and moving towards a more sustainable and healthy way of life. So can we, at the same time as we campaign for good wages, decent working conditions, and solid pensions, also not lose sight of what progress should be about. My granddad was a miner (he died young), my dad had ill health his entire life due to a working class environment and was a carpenter and also died way too young, I install solar panels - decent wage, good working conditions,, I hope to live a healthy and long life.
