Like you said, the smudge or blur tool literally dont make it souless 😭 and as you showed, you can blur traditionally too. The smudge tool is just the difference of doing that. Digital art takes time to master cause its a different medium completely. The difference between that and AI is the fact that with ai art you just type “pretty girl with blue hair” and wait a little bit. Byt with digital, you have to do it yourself, express your own creativity, and challenge yourself. AI art feels souless because it literally is. There is no thought or feeling behind the art at all. Where digital art, there is. Because the person spends time and effort. I hate AI art and that will never change
