the part not being factored in is the currency devaluation. yes they are putting tons of money into ai tech etc but the money itself is worth far less, for instance, a house is a house, the same house with nothing new from 1999 was $100k the same house now costs $800k in some places. take that and extrapolate it out across the board. look at an old menu from a restaurant in that era, 2x cheaper for the same food. in some cases 3x cheaper. a sandwich costs $20+ now w tax and tip, same sandwich in 99’ was $5-7. you’re comparing money as if it’s the same value, it’s not. it makes sense that it takes boatloads more cash if the cash is devalued. this is how a debt based system works. you’re comparing 25 years of debasement as if it’s not happened.
