I dont support ai. And i agree with all of your points. But ai can be good reference in terms of color schemes. I dont really think theres much to dispute about the fact that ai image generation does use color well. Not to say you cant use real art for references for color schemes, but with the amount of ai slop thats on the internet i dont think anyone should feel ashamed by finding an image that they like, realizing its ai, and still would like to create something using similar elements much like the use of color. So yeah, using ai for reference might not make sense if youre trying to draw a specific thing like the waistcoat or a lion... but accuracy isnt the only element people take from reference images.
