AI art is a very muddy puddle legally, as it is utilising the works of probably millions of artist without their permission of knowledge; which in any other scenario, would be classed as theft/copyright infringement when used for profit. But it is important to note that legal organisation are not interested in investigating nor implementing laws surrounding said exploitations of AI, because it benefits those in power. On another note, AI will have disastrous effects leading to a societal collapse if those who sing its praises get what they want with it taking over every possible job. For if the job opportunities shrink to a very small collective of choices, competition will sky rocket leading to an increase in unemployment and mass poverty, because there are simply not enough jobs for the population. A similar thing happened with industrialisation, but not as massively catastrophic as AI would be, as most of said jobs within that time were phased out slowly with advancement in technology. Think horses being completely replaced with cars, whole jobs going extinct because there is simply no need for them anymore, leading to people losing their entire livelihoods and skills passed down for generations. I have no qualms in saying the 1% rued the day the caste system was effectively abolished and replaced with the perceived notion of 'democracy', and increase of the working classes quality of living. Don't want the peasants getting comfortable and simultaneously ungrateful of the pathetic scraps you give them now do we?
