I’m sure this will be roundly mocked by those who don’t really understand the context of what I’m referring to, however, another exact linear comparison to what is happening today is AI being mankind’s modern Tower of Babel. It is an achievement so profound that it could be civilization replacing/ending in the same way that The Tower of Babel was in the Biblical description
