UBI is a huge and important part of the solution. Although, it could be better to give it in the form of protection from losing your house, food to put on your table, and healthcare access. A cash handout is much more risky since it relies on people being sensible in how they use it. In the form of guaranteed access to your basic human needs, I think it would powerfully improve society. Most of the bad things in human society exist because peoples' survival is tied to obtaining money. For example, scams and advertisements exist because people are forced to try to farm money just to survive. These would be reduced back to a tolerable level in a world where people could do okay without money. A lot of people in the USA have completely bought into this weird myth that everyone must have a job. This is patently unrealistic. There is no way for everyone to have a job that is useful to society. Therefore, many jobs already exist that are useless or even destructive to society. It would be better to pay people to not do those jobs than to let people do things that are destructive to society just so they can congratulate themselves on having a job.
