Before anything, I would like to say I am absolutely against AI generated art. It's lazy, soulless, and its purpose is reprehensible. The fact that artists are losing their jobs because some moon brained individuals saw an opportunity to type some words and click a button for free art is horrible. However, I would also like to provide another viewpoint. I have a friend who physically cannot draw. It's not to say that he didn't try, he simply cannot draw. And seeing as how nobody will give him a job, he isn't capable of commissioning any artists. So he turned to AI image creation to try to turn his ideas into tangible concepts. While he isn't going to be using any of those images officially, it has helped him to give some visual representation of his ideas, and I think that's worth something. I feel as though that is how far AI should've gone. Not used commercially, or to spread propaganda, or to harass people, but something to either have fun with, or help with ideas. And again, to hammer this home in case anyone thinks I am secretly on the side of AI art. I myself am an artist, and I do not endorse the usage of image generators for any purposes other than to mess around, or to spark ideas. That's it.
