Elon, I'm right there with you, 100%, as to our need for regulation while developing A.I. What gives me cause to pause, is that this is much like the Government pretending that Gun Regulations will curb the Mass Killings... It won't. The ones that fall in line and agree to be Regulated are NOT the ones that we need to be wary of. There will always be those Cowboys, who will buck the system, whether that be having to do with Gun Control or A.I. Regulations. It is the Wack Minority that believe that they are Smarter, than they really are and they think that they know what's best for the General population. With all that is at stake, regarding whosoever reaches A.G.I. first, it is now an out & out race to see who can get there first and no regulations are going to hinder the push to get there first. We need to HALT the progress in A.I. right where it is and do some real evaluation of the many possible ways that this could end badly for Humanity, before proceeding. We need to truly understand the unknown that we are trudging into, because we will Not get a second chance at this!
