Haven’t we learned the lesson? Massive inequality is not the fault of new technology itself; it’s because those who benefited from it failed to share their fortune with those who didn’t have the same opportunity.
Yes Bernie gets the right direction that fundamental social safety net infrastructure must be built to accommodate those who will lose their economic relevance through any sort of technological change not just AI. After all it’s will not be their fault that they are replaced due to the inevitable trend that one technology will replace another.
