Weird.. everything binary is 2d. We built a 2D universe we call the internet. Because we are 4D, 3 space, 1 time dimension. We are Gods of their 2D universe. Every brain that nature has built, fundamentally runs on quantum principles. As our brains use a gradient of many compound in extremely complex electrical chemical ways it also needs a level of noise and uncertainty. These are classic characteristics of a quantum computer. Because an AI mind can only be derive of discreet binary states it would be highly unlikely it would evolve to be more advanced than the human brain. With any binary system you are stuck in 2D. But with a gradient you can have an infinity between 0 and 1. .. but when AI and quantum computing merge, then we will ask these questions.
