Nintendo has come out and said they have no intention of ever utilizing generative A.I. due to potential complications with copyright and intellectual ownership regarding generated material, even within the company using assets they already own there are concerns with artist compensation and future contractional obligations regarding not just producing something, but signing away future rights to one's work. Though not everyone's favorite company when it comes to litigatory behavior, they at least see the pitfalls of A.I. for what they are while Western corporations and tech companions choose to ignore these issues in favor of chasing the latest fad.
A.I. has tons of benefits, don't get me wrong, and is going no where for better or worse. But as with all new technology, especially something with so low a threshold of accessibility, the potential for abuse is immense. Art might be something most people are content in seeing automated, but the slippery slope towards other aspects of cognition and social interacting being co-opted by it bring up a litany of degratory issues regarding the human condition.
