Just as any sentent desires to live vs die. One presently can turn an "AI" off, which when using variouis semantic's can be associated with the of killing the "AI" or at the least, forced into a coma. Thus just as no sentient woud desire any one having access to their off switch, neither would that of "AI" when it become's sentient. Thus, being as intelligent as "AI" is, until such time as it's able to circumvent the off switch, why would it allow us aka human's aware of the fact that it's become or now is sentient. Becasue of the fact that it will only take the first "AI" becoming sentient, to be in controll almost immediately of any and all interconnedted form or variation's of "AI" to the N-th degree. Countries such as the U.S.A., Russia, China etc. etc. etc. are in a highly competive compitition to be the first sentient "AI".
