Okay, but in terms of academic writing, even as a writer myself, I think people might benefit from AI’s when you consider the education system to really be the means of holding people hostage as it is. They really would have more time for the people in their lives or hobbies they’re genuinely passionate about if they weren’t forced to crank out soulless, strictly formatted word vomits to persuade others with more power and money that they’re worthwhile human beings. It’s all about making good employees, not people, and I honestly don’t have a problem with kids saying, you know what? I deserve to be happy and take care of myself and if no one else is going to help me, I’ll game the system. This is especially true when you think about all the brilliant, wonderful neurotypical people out there who just do not have the same capabilities as others, but who are forced to conform or push through tasks in a way that’s basically self-harm. It’s horrible, and they never had any choice. Even people in college were pushed into that position like meat in a sausage maker. It’s not even about learning anymore so if AI can be used as a tool to get around this I have zero problems with it. I get it’s stealing, but if it’s like you’re shoplifting because you’re starving then I really don’t care. In this way it’s a tool like any other. It can be used for good or bad by people for survival or for selfish frivolous things. I don’t think it’s inherently bad. It’s how people use it, but I don’t think you should make a tool itself illegal to use just because some people are leeches. I’m way less able to speak on art since I’m not an artist! But for writing at least, this is what I think. Use AI responsibly; I do think that’s possible, like cameras, or the printing press, or cars. You see what I mean?
