5:58 at that point you need to look into their programming and ask what the makers of those robots stand to gain by getting fools to believe these robots are sentient and as such need rights, such as say, voting rights, when if granted now have ceded full control of all governance to the makers of the AI you imagine.
despite what some technologists may muse, we are no where near any sort of AI that goes outside of its reprogrammed parameters.
It is far easier however, too fool people into thinking something is real than actually make the real McCoy.
the real threat is not what happens if robots demand rights, which is far from any near term reality, but what happens when enough people are dumb enough to believe that a human looking machine can laugh and cry and thus real enough too deserve something like voting rights and thus hand all of their own rights over to the wills of multinational corporations who can pump out billions of these false AIs far faster than humans can procreate and raise a child to adulthood.
