Corporate profiting? Very bad. But to go super abstract, do you credit every single piece of artwork you have ever seen, that has invariably influenced your art, even in the tiniest way possible? If you ever shifted how you pose a character slightly because of a long forgotten scene in an animated show, then you used copyrighted material without the artist's permission, according to the logic of AI art using publicly accessible images being bad. This comes from me being both a programmer and aspiring artist; and almost every artistic tutorial mentions that you should look at how other people did things to add into your toolbelt. Flat copying and claiming as your own is bad, but learning how someone varies line width on the face and using that for other faces you draw is recommended. Likewise... even if an AI Art Program had no art input, and just put random colors together and had people judge how *art* they were... it would still be based on all the copyrighted artwork those judges had ever seen in their lives influencing what it means to be art to them. But, as I started with, capitalism is bad and AI art leading to less ability for humans to survive is really bad. I think energy is better spent on ending capitalism than something that could happily coexist in a post economic world. It isn't as bad as this, but it feels like it is on the same slope of railing against immigrants... because capitalists can under pay them leading you to not get those seasonal farm income. And in this case, blaming a farm company for taking part in seasonal immigration.
