The issue I see with this is that this Doctor presumes instant commercialisation of AI across the entire economy as soon as the technology is invented… think about whether that’s actual possible… think about a local tire replacement outlet… are they really going to adopt an AI machine to look for tire punctures that puts auto mechanics out of business in the next 5 years?… I don’t think so… there are many parts of the economy - particularly the local economy (think people fixing solar panels on a roof… or putting up new guttering on a house… or selling school uniforms or installing a home automation system etc) that AI will not touch for well over a decade… yes, it’s coming but whilst this Doctor understands the theoretical tech well, he fails to understand the practicalities of rolling it out across the actual local economy… lots of theory, zero practical reasoning
