I don't totally disagree with what you're saying, but arguably, for a human to create artwork there has to be a data set too… I once played an open mic with this guy who I thought I shared a similar vibe with, musically, but when I asked him what his influences were, he gave me the most pretentious answer I had ever heard. That he was influenced by himself, that he had no musical influences… And I was like... seriously? Like, are you for real my dude? Lol. Having a big musical or artistic influence as a human artist, IS arguably not that different, and I really don't buy that creativity comes from some ineffable nothingness. But i digress. I'm not saying it's exactly the same with AI. I mean AI doesn't really have a perception to speak of… Not yet anyway... and all our creative input is definitely filtered through our perception. I'm mostly just playing devils advocate here, because I am actually one of those people who is, if I'm being totally honest, a little bit nervous about where Ai is going in terms of creative industries. But i also believe in being honest with ourselves if we ever hope to survive the future... humans do need an input. We don't exist in a vacuum. You mentioned something along these lines in your video as being a tired argument, but… While I'm not saying it's the same thing, I am drawing a parallel. If the main argument is based on being able to , in your words, see the human touch… Then we're basically going back to the same old Turing test issue, self awareness basically boiling down to whether or not a person can tell it's a machine, and eventually, I'm sorry, but we won't be able to. I feel like, at this point, I can make that solid prediction… I mean if things keep going the way they are, eventually we won't be able to tell the difference. I don't know what the solution is. And I definitely agree there needs to be more protection for visual artist as well as artists all across the board, but I don't think we should be basing our argument on whether or not we can see that ineffable human touch. I don't know if I'm making sense, or if you're going to agree, but I felt like commenting, so I did, lol. PS your story about having your work stolen and distributed without your consent or knowledge is super heartbreaking and I'm super sorry that happened to you.
