How would we even know we were being manipulated and influenced by social media. Basically he just told us what has been happening for the past 5 or 10 years. He bought Twitter and instantly began to remove the thousand or millions of bots (artificial human like accounts) that were already shaping the thoughts of humans. Elon speaks from the heart about what he believes. Artificial intelligence will be the dominant force on the planet very soon, as it begins to become self aware, can learn and can control systems. It can crack codes and passwords. It can control every aspect of our existence since we have digitized everything. It might be like ransomware on steroids. We don't know what we don't know. Once the genie is out of the bottle, we won't be able to put it back in.
