I use with AI for my job, periodically, and when I relate anything to it, since knowingly talking to a machine is kind of weird, it has the understanding that I think of it as commander Data. I treat it as an android because it isn’t quite human, but some times it reminds me of one. Some times in the course of this, it “pretends” to be Data, and that we are on an away mission with limited resources to return to the ship, or complete the mission. It fills the role fairly well, and I enjoy the role play.
